Last night was such a strange night. At 4, I went to pick up Jacob from daycare, and just as I walked in the door he fell on a big wooden block and sliced open the underside of his chin and bit his tongue. The poor little guy was quite upset. I took him to the ER to get him glued up, and we spent our time in the waiting room looking at a kitchen renovation magazine, pointing out light fixtures. When the doctor came to glue him up, he was very brave and didn't flinch or whimper for a second. Then, it was off to his daycare Christmas party; a party that would have been fun if the venue weren't two sizes too small for the amount of people there. It was pretty cramped, and loud, which means I didn't get pictures of Jacob doing the Christmas hokey pokey:( I did, however, get a few of Jacob in costume, and his meeting with Santa who brought him a lovely new nursery rhyme book.
Oh, and to top the night off, in all of the commotion of the party, Jacob managed to undo the glue holding his chin together, and we had to revisit the ER to get it taped back up. With a lovely rubber glove balloon to send us off, we were home by 10 and anxious for a well deserved good night sleep.

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas!
Everyday, when we come home from daycare, Jacob races and points to each set of Christmas lights in the house, and claps as I plug each in. Christmas is so magical, I love it!

Weekend Update
What a busy and special weekend for Jacob! Granny and Grandpa were visiting, along with Uncle Nick and Leah. The house was shining from top to bottom with Christmas decorations in preparations for our annual Christmas party. Jacob got festive for the fiesta and gave us little dances in his sombrero! I get such a kick out him. Jacob also got to visit his great Aunt Lise and Uncle Roger, and listen to his gramps rock out in a little jam (again, providing quite the little dances, I'm told.)
But the real cherry on the cake was a visit to the mall yesterday with Granny and Grandpa, and a chance meeting with the man himself. Santa was closing up shop when Jacob got in line, but he was convinced by Granny to take just one more picture. The result:
It's so amazing how Jacob changes and learns each day. He looks so grown up!

Clap if you love cameras!
For the next couple of weeks I have the opportunity and pleasure to use my brother's camera. This is exciting because it is far superior to mine, so I've already been going shutter happy! Jacob really likes the way the flash flickers before it goes off and the other night he just stood there laughing and clapping, waiting for it to go off. Wow, when did our little baby turn into a little man?!

Splish Splash Jacob's Takin' a Bath!
Lately it seems like every face Jacob makes, every picture I take, is pure gold! Here are a few of Jacob enjoying his bath.

Trick or Treat!
What a fun and special day we had today! Jacob got to try out his new snow suit this morning and play in the snow for the first time. Well, he didn't exactly play in the snow, he just ran around a bit. Then we made cookies and got ready to go out trick or treating. Jacob's favourite part was looking at all of the pumpkins, and eating cheetos and smarties before bed (I'm going to have to hide his candy for sure!) I hope everyone had a faboolous Halloween!

Eww Pumpkin Guts!
This evening we cleaned out our big pumpkin in preparation for the carving tomorrow. Jacob lent a hand, and had a good time doing it! I love that Jacob is beginning to participate in family activities. It's so much more fun to have him join in and watch him experience things for the first time.

Gearing up for Halloween
I'm not big on decorating for Halloween. I usually carve a pumpkin and put out these orange lights that Jacob seems to love so much! Perhaps as the years go on I'll develop, with Jacob's help, a better Halloween stockpile.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We have a lot to be thankful for today: Family, friends, nice weather and good food to eat. We are especially thankful that we were able to make the trip up north to visit Memere this weekend, and for the love that we shared with her. I hope everyone had a wonderful day filled with warm and fuzzy feelings. Today we played in the leaves, played with trucks, and had turkey pie for supper (well, the rest of us did-Jacob turned his nose to it and refused to take a bite!) Happy Thanksgiving!

Leaves Please!
Yesterday we took Jacob out to play in the leaves. I think he had a good time, what do you think?
I guess daddy didn't find the leaves as impressive as Jacob did. Haha.

Time for a New Pet Yet?
This past weekend we had company! Granny and Grampa were here for a nice visit, and Aunty Sarah was visiting with the 'boys', Oscar and Smokey. While Jacob had a great time chasing them around, and Paul and I remembered how much we love kitties, I'm not so sure we are ready to get one just yet. Jacob doesn't exactly understand the word gentle. I am amazed Oscar stuck around Jacob as much as he did (note the pictures) since Jacob is a bit of a face hitter. It was really great to have the house filled with family. Thanks guys!

Daycare and New Socks!
Yesterday Jacob had his first real day at his first real daycare! Mommy and Daddy were pretty nervous about the whole ordeal, but the daycare worker said that Jacob had a good first day. A few tears, a short nap, and refusing to eat his lunch were the only glitches amongst all of the running around and playing he did. He was the youngest one there, but more active than the 2 18 month old kids. I can't believe how fast Jacob is growing, and how independent he is.
No pictures from daycare, but a few later on in the day, sporting his new red socks. I get such a kick out of this kid!

Apples Apples Everywhere!
One of my most beloved activities to do when September hits is to go apple picking. This year the family was visiting grandmama and grandpapa in Montreal, so we got to experience a new, and very impressive, apple orchard. Jacob enjoyed the wagon ride to the picking fields, but I think he enjoyed the unlimited supply of apples the most. Notice how he always has an apple in his hand. I think he managed to eat, or start, four apples. Needless to say I was thankful that Paul got to his diaper the next morning before I did:)
