Out on the ocean sailing away, I can hardly wait to see you come of age. But I guess we'll both just have to be patient, 'cause it's a long way to go...Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy.

Pail Head
While Jacob and I were away last week, D'orrie, for the first time in seven months, got into Jacob's diaper pail. So it was a little disapointing yesterday, when we came home from doing groceries, to find she had strewn more diapers across Jacob's bedroom floor. What we didn't notice until we had the diapers cleaned up, was that D'orrie still had the lid from the garbage pail stuck around her neck. We had a good laugh, and I am laughing again now just looking at the picture. Silly pooch.

Homeward Bound
This week Jacob and I spent some fun filled days with Grandma and Grandpa in Mississauga! It was a really nice trip and we enjoyed the time spent laughing and playing with our family. Highlights of the trip include some Mommy time with my sister in Niagara falls, an Aveda facial (ahhh), A birthday dinner at a Japanese grill and Jacob's first babbles: Babababa! Now it's back on the road to Daddy and D'orrie and our own beds. We'll miss you!

I feel so High!
Up to this point we have been feeding Jacob his meals in his Bumbo chair. This has recently proven to be very difficult since he has figured out how to shift and bend himself almost out the chair completely! Before we allowed that to happen, we decided it was about time to get a high chair. Off to ToysRUs we went and we are the proud new owners of an Evenflo high chair. It wasn't the fanciest model there, but by gosh it was the cheapest: Reg. $105 on sale for $59! And with some gift money that Jacob received for Christmas, it only cost us $20! So, even if it only lasts for one child, it was still a steal, and Jacob doesn't seem to mind that we cut costs:)

Sippy
This week Jacob got his first sippy cup as a part of my long run up to less bottles. It took him a couple of days to realize that he had to suck on it to get anything, but he's got the hang of it and now enjoys sips of water throughout the day. Jacob is also getting to be quite the active little guy and he always wants to be moving. I have a feeling that I should really enjoy these last couple of months before he starts crawling because he's going to be a fast one!

In Love
I've heard that around the 6 month mark, lots of fun things begin to happen, and that parenting becomes more exciting.
Indeed this is the case, and just in time for the dreary days of winter! Jacob is beginning to assert himself quite well, and we are getting glimpses of his personality more each day. He loves sitting up and has to be kept busy until he is struggling to keep his eyes open before he can be put down. He is such a happy little boy, and I am finding our days together much more exciting and interesting (though tiring). Looking forward to the days and weeks ahead:)
