Summer Activities

Now that Jacob is a full fledged walker, we are always on the go! This past weekend we took Jacob to a bbq on a farm, and to a concert in the park. He is quite the little explorer and takes off without looking back. I'm glad he has the confidence, but it sure is a job trying to chase after him, and he's not even running yet!

Jacob also suffered his first casualty as a walker the other day, and walked himself right into the base of our bed. Poor little guy got his first goose egg:( And so continue the adventures of our little Jake-asaurus.

Fun in the Sun

Jacob and I are really enjoying our time outside this summer. Last year I was almost afraid to take him outside, since I couldn't use sunblock until he was 6 months old. Now I just load him up and out we go! Last week we spent time in Mississauga with family, and our activities included a morning in Toronto to visit a friend and CBC kids, pool time in Granny's backyard with a new bubble gun, a trip to Chuckie Cheese's (with Granny and Gramps) and dinner with 'Auntie' Kara.

It's great to be back home though. Yesterday we took a trip to our local splash pad again, where Jacob had the skills and courage to walk through the sprinklers all by himself. Wait, didn't I tell you yet?! Jacob is a full on walker! It's pretty crazy that only a few weeks ago he was taking just one or two steps at a time. At this rate, next week he will be running!

Canada Day and the Beach

Yesterday our little crew spent some time at the local park where the Canada Day festivities were in full swing for the kiddies. Though it was a cool, windy day, we still had a great time! Jacob was in awe with the petting zoo, and it was so cute to hear him call out to the animals with sheer excitement. Here are a few pictures from the park, and a couple from this afternoon, when we returned with much nicer weather to enjoy the beach and sprinklers.
